Stone Carving Festival 09

May 7th, 2009 No comments

Our charity stone carving festival is taking place on the 23rd 24th and 25th May 09.

The stone for this event has been kindly donated for the second year running by Veizeys Quarry on the Avening road in Tetbury.

This year we are supporting; All Saints Church in Longhope, Glos.who are raising money for a restoration project, and The Cobalt Appeal, who raise much needed money for cancer research and treatment clinics.

There will be a small charge of £2.50 for adults and £5.oo for a family ticket, this entitles the bearer to entrance on all 3 days and a programme.

Open from 10am-5pm all three days.

There will be a Hog Roast and Cider tent both produced locally!!

Other attractions will be in the courtyard, Stanboro lane Nurseries will be back selling pots and plants, there may be bouncy castles as well-weather permitting!!

The main craft centre will be open as normal with free admission, the fabulous Old Dairy Tearoom and garden will be open throughout the festival for homemade and locally produced refreshments.

On the Bank Holiday Monday afternoon, there will be an auction of the carvings, with the profits going to our charities, last year we managed to raise almost £3000! Lets hope we can do the same this year.

Any one wishing to participate, please email me for details.

So far we have 12 masons taking part,so there are still places if any one would like to take part.

I hope to see you all there!
