Come and strike a replica of the French Petit Blanc coin in Pewter using replica dies, there is a £1.50 charge which includes an explanation card.
The coin is a replica of the one found under the Bow of the Newport Ship, placed there to bring the ship good luck by the shipwrights at the time of her construction. The coin dates to 1447.
Also on sale are replica sets of Pirate, Roman and Medieval coins along with guidebooks about the medieval ship, all of this is done in a beautiful medieval tent.
The proceeds go to The Friends of the Newport Ship who use these to finance elements of the ship’s conservation and research.
